To a place called Rainbow Bridge.

Stay a while and you will see

Their shiny eyes and tails held high.

Glossy coats and plumage plump,

Crossing over the Rainbow Bridge.

They're leaving behind such sorrow,

From a dark uncaring world.

Many have gone before them,

So many more still to come.

I see them all.

Every gentle soul.

I wish I could go with them,

To feel the sun on my face.

But I am left to bear witness,

To tell their mournful tale.

And maybe when I'm done,

When I draw my final breath,

They might deem me worthy

To join them on their journey

Across the Rainbow Bridge.
